Diddy diatribe can’t be music to Dems’ ears

It’s true that we can’t choose our parents or relatives. To be sure, political candidates certainly wish they could exclude certain people who choose to support them.
Let’s take a look at one such supporter of Sen. Barack Obama, rapper extraordinaire and Democratic activist P. Diddy.
I feel sorry for the leaders in the Obama camp and I bet they wish they could make this supporter go away until after the election.
P. Diddy’s support and comments are exactly what the Democrats do not want in connection with their effort to elect Obama.
In case you are not aware, it seems P. Diddy, aka Sean Combs, is very upset that Sen. John McCain would nominate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate.
Diddy, a famous, wealthy rapper, and aspiring actor, recording artist and activist, recorded a video log and said (please note, these are direct quotes): “John, you are bugging the f*** you. I don’t even understand what planet you’re on now. This is the job to be the leader of the free world. No disrespect, I love ya, I want you to live to 110, but what if, God forbid, you got a running mate, you become President. Alaska? ALASKA? ALASKA?
ALASKA?
“Come on, man. I don’t even know if there are any black people in Alaska.
John, come on. Sarah [Palin]? What in the hell? ALASKA? You’re bugging the f*** out. Sarah Palin, you ain’t ready to be vice president. ALASKA MOTHERF****R? What is the reality in Alaska? There aren’t even any crackheads in Alaska. There aren’t no black people in Alaska.”
P. Diddy has promised that he will encourage “millions” of young people to come out and vote for Obama. He went on to say, “I am going to get focused and make sure that all the young ones, all the forgotten ones that they get busy on November 4 and vote in record numbers. This won’t be the last time you hear my name. I am going to bring millions out to the polls to make sure.
“If you really think we are going to let you win this election with these crazy decisions that you are making then you are bugging. I am calling all youth, all colours, all youth voters ¬ November 4 we have to protect our future because John McCain is bugging the f*** out.”
P. Diddy also suggested that McCain should have asked Obama’s wife to be his running mate.
“You should have got Michelle Obama to be your running mate ¬ now that would have been strategic. This one right here is not respectful to our lives.
Would you let her keep your kids? Raise your kids? For real? No. You are my man, you are a war hero, but no way. You are bugging the f*** out. That is completely irresponsible."
It comforts me to know that a famous rap artist understands what is and is not responsible. Whew, for a minute there I was very concerned for the rap world and that genre.
P. Diddy’s depth of ignorance and sheer stupidity exhibited in this diatribe are incalculable. I am not sure whether to feel sorry for him or laugh and look the other way.
I wonder how many Democrats are laughing or looking the other way?
Should they?
Let’s hope P. Diddy does indeed get focused. And by focused, I mean on current Alaskan demographics, population makeup and the proper use of the English language.
Maybe he could also practice focusing his thoughts intelligently before he speaks. Perhaps he could enroll in a Toastmasters club and get some help.
I am sure in his mind what he said makes perfect sense. And maybe the rap crowd gets his message - Yo.
Will Obama or his surrogates respond, apologize or just ignore him?
I can’t help but wonder, what on earth would Obama say to this rap sap?
Thank you, P. Diddy, for that insightful, in-depth, well-thought-out, informative presidential political analysis.
Yo!
